DARRYL D'MONTE, Chairperson, Forum of Environmental Journalists of India (FEJI), Mumbai

Former Resident Editor of The Times of India and Indian Express, Darryl D’Monte writes for several newspapers and websites. His works include Ripping the Fabric: The Decline of Mumbai and its Mills and Temples Or Tombs? Industry Versus Environment. He has also edited Mills for Sale: The Way Ahead. He is Chairperson of Forum of Environmental Journalists of India (FEJI) and was Founder-President of International Federation of Environmental Journalists (IFEJ) in Dresden, Germany. He is a Trustee of the Mumbai Waterfronts Centre, which in 2007 shared the first Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award for implementing a citizen welfare project in Mumbai. In 2009, he was awarded the first Green Globe Media Award at the Delhi Summit on Sustainable Development. He is President of Bandra West Residents Association and Founder-Trustee of Celebrate Bandra festival.
